Subscriber's Personal Information


We never automatically collect any information that specifically identifies you, such as your real name, residential address, identification card number, date of birth, phone number, account number or e-mail address. The following information is collected only when you voluntarily provide it as part of the registration process: your name, email address, postal code, specialty (e.g., physician, nurse, student, etc.), and practice type (e.g., cardiologist, pediatrician, etc.) ("Personal Information"). Use of Usage Information


Usage Information is not Personal Information. Usage Information does not identify any particular user, including information about which of the website's pages are visited on an aggregate level, browser type, operating system type, and IP address. We may disclose your Usage Information from time to time to our affiliates and third parties, including your subscribing entity. For example, we may disclose Usage Information in order to better understand which parts of the website users are visiting, to improve the content of the website, and for marketing, advertising, or research purposes. Institutional subscribers should refer to their subscription and license agreement.

Period of Use of Personal Information


We keep your Personal Information: (i) for as long as your account is active, (ii) as needed to provide you with our products or services, (iii) as needed for the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, (iv) as necessary to comply with our legal obligations (such as to honor opt-outs), resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements, and (v) to the extent permitted by law.


Subscribers’ Rights


You have certain rights in relation to the Personal Information we hold about you. We set out below how to exercise those rights. Please note that we will require you to verify your identity before responding to any requests to exercise your rights. We will respond to a request by you to exercise those rights without undue delay and at least within one month (although this may be extended by a further two months in certain circumstances, such as where the request involves substantial volumes of information or is otherwise complex).

Upon request UTD will provide you with information about whether we hold any of your Personal Information. You also have the right to access Personal Information we hold about you, how we use it, and who we share it with. You also have the right to correct that information. You may request that we erase the Personal Information we hold about you in the following circumstances:


        our processing of your Personal Information violates PRC laws and regulations;


        we collect and use your Personal Information without your consent;


        our processing of your Personal Information violates the agreement with you;


        you no longer use UTD products or services, or you cancel your account;


        we no longer provide you products or services.


Please note, however, that we may retain the Personal Information if there are valid grounds under law for us to do so (e.g., for the defence of legal claims, some other legal obligation) but we will let you know if that is the case.


Modification of your consent scope


Each business function may require certain Personal Information (See the section "Use of Personal Information"). For additional collection and use of Personal Information, you may provide or withdraw your authorized consent any time. You may provide or withdraw through calling customer service at 400-886-7266.


After your withdrawal of consent, we will no longer process the relevant Personal Information. However, your decision to withdraw your consent will not affect our previous processing of your Personal Information on the basis of your authorization.


Duplicate and portability


You have the right to receive a copy of certain Personal Information we collect from you by calling customer service at 400-886-7266. This comprises any Personal Information we process on the basis of your consent (e.g., voluntarily-provided profile data, content selected to store to Favorites) as described in the section "Use of Personal Information". You have the right to receive this information in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format. You also have the right to request that we transfer that Personal Information to another party.


If you wish for us to transfer the Personal Information to a third party, please ensure you detail that party. Note that we can only do so where it is technically feasible. We are not responsible for the security of the Personal Information or its processing once received by the third party. Age Restriction


UTD is not intended for Children. Children under the age of 14 (inclusive) should not subscribe or use UTD products or services without first obtaining parental/guardian agreement to this Privacy Policy (both for themselves and on your behalf). We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from any children under the age of 14 without such consent. Please contact us if you believe we have any Personal Information from any children under the age of 14 without such parental/guardian consent – we will promptly investigate (and remove) such Personal Information.


Effective Date / Updates


This Privacy Policy is effective as of the date on the first page and will remain in effect unless changed. We may modify this Privacy Policy at any time, and such modifications shall be effective immediately upon posting of the modified Privacy Policy on our website.
